A simple three-digit phone number can make all the difference for a person looking for food, rental assistance, senior activities or a parenting class. United Way funding supports 2-1-1, which helps connect us all to vital community resources.

United Way of Thurston County Kicks Off 2009 Campaign

The 2009 Campaign for United Way of Thurston County officially kicked off with the 17th annual Day of Caring event on September 25th.

Campaign Chair Don Krupp, Thurston County Manager set a campaign goal of 1.4 million. Krupp states, “ United Way’s new focus is to target resources in the areas of education, income and health. Our community is stronger when a child succeeds in school, when a family becomes financially stable, and when seniors have good health. I’m excited to be a part of an organization that addresses immediate needs but also mobilizes the community to get at the underlying causes of local problems to achieve long-term, measurable results.”

Last year’s campaign donations are currently supporting 56 local health and human service programs and initiatives. For more information about funded programs,
