Community Assessment

In Spring 2009, United Way of Thurston County conducted a community assessment of the current economic, educational, environmental and social conditions in our county, as well as how they have changed since a 2003 community assessment. The findings from the study will help

United Way and other organizations invest resources in the areas of greatest need and impact, and find ways to leverage our community’s many strengths.

 Goals of this project were to:

• Identify community assets and resources.
• Identify community concerns and needs.
• Search for gaps between needs and assets.
• Determine the status of current United Way of Thurston County impact areas.
• Identify opportunities for future emphasis and investment.
