The Community Care Center is requesting donations of food to have on hand for clients who need food for medical reasons.

Food needed: Granola bars, breakfast bars, juice boxes, single serve crackers, single-serve nuts, single serve trail mix, applesauce, cup of noodles, single-serve soup and (non-perishable) milk boxes.


Reading Buddies Make a Difference

The United Way’s Reading Buddy program wrapped up their 5th year supporting elementary schools, teachers and students by recruiting and connecting community volunteers as Reading Buddies.  Reading Buddies help our schools by working with students who struggle to read at grade level.  Reading Buddies help them sound out tricky words, discuss new vocabulary and ask questions about the story.  Reading Buddies provide one on

Over 1,000 Volunteers Expected to Participate in Days of Caring

July 25, 2017 – Olympia, Wash. On September 22 and 23, Thurston County residents can expect to see over one thousand volunteers wearing LIVE UNITED t-shirts pulling weeds, painting buildings and cleaning sidewalks. It is about team building, giving back and helping organizations in need. Day of Caring has become an event that shuts down offices as employees hit the streets to make a difference together.
