It’s National Volunteer Appreciation Week and we’re shining the spotlight on volunteers who are making a difference – volunteers like Ron Bruchet.
"Giving back to our community has always been important to me (and my wife) through giving and volunteering,” he said. “I've served on several boards and committees and quickly learned that I always gain more from the experience than it takes from the giving of my time. I've met so many great people who are very passionate and have witnessed the positive outcomes of the various programs serving our most vulnerable population.”
Ron's been busy! To date, he's served as the 2013-2014 Chair of the United Way Campaign, on the United Way Board from 2014 to present, and is currently serving as the Board Vice President. He has served on the Community Impact Partnership (CIP) from 2016 through 2018, became Chair of the Community Investment Council (CIC) in 2018 and regularly participates in Day of Caring.
We asked how he finds the time to volunteer and he said, "I guess I never really think about whether or not I have time. I just find a way to work it into my schedule. There are times when I feel a little overwhelmed, but that can true for life too.”
