Olympia, Wash. — On Monday, December 3 at 5:30 p.m. at the Olympia Country and Golf Club, Women United of United Way of Thurston County will throw a ‘Shelter Shower’ for twins! This year, they will shower SafePlace and Family Support Center of South Sound with household items detailed on their ‘registry’ lists here.
SafePlace works for societal change to prevent sexual and domestic violence while offering crisis intervention, education, and long-term advocacy services.
Family Support Center seeks to build strong, healthy, safe, and hopeful families through six collaborative programs and multiple services, utilizing a "one-stop-shop" model. The Family Support Center diligently works to end family homelessness, poverty, and family violence through programs and services.
United Way invites the community to join Women United at Shelter Shower to support these organizations with gifts and to enjoy appetizers and drinks!
Bring friends and learn more about how these two programs benefit the women of Thurston County.
About United Way and Women United
United Way of Thurston County fights for the health, education and financial stability of every person in our community. Any woman who makes United Way part of her philanthropy has the opportunity to become part of a group of dynamic women working together to solve urgent, local community problems — Women United.
In addition to their support for UWTC, Women United also works to identify local issues that need urgent attention within the larger United Way focus areas. Women United’s current priority is to support programs providing resources for a growing and vulnerable population: families with children who are currently homeless or on the verge of becoming homeless.
