On October 14, Intel, a high-tech company announced to 690 of its employees located at the DuPont, Wash. site that it plans to sell the property and relocate approximately 350 employees. Intel was the first major employer to grow roots in DuPont, and United Way is sad to hear they will be shrinking their presence in that area.

United Way of Thurston County is excited to celebrate the 21st Annual Day of Caring on September 27. This year, 765 individuals from workplaces, church groups, neighborhood associations, and service clubs will increase the impact in the community by volunteering in 40 projects around Thurston County. Each project will benefit non-profit organizations and government agencies seeking additional help.
